Deadlier and more horrifying than the flesh golem is the atrocity, a vile creation spawned by a ritual of necromancy and carnivorousness. Like the flesh golem, the atrocity is a foul amalgam of various body parts that have been sewn together to create a golem of repurposed flesh. Unlike the flesh golem, however, an atrocity can only be created by incorporating non-humanoid flesh in addition to its base humanoid components. Further, the creator of the atrocity must partake of the same flesh of any humanoid components used in the creation of the atrocity. The creation of an atrocity is a purely necromantic endeavour; they are imbued not with an elemental spirit like other golems but rather the spirit of a freshly-slain innocent, which must be used as a reagent and repurposed into unrecognisable life force that forms the atrocity’s crude and violent mind. 

As a result of the carnivorous ritual undertaken to create them, atrocities may consume flesh to regenerate their own forms as well as to grow their power. Atrocities that have persisted for many years and that have consumed much flesh swell to larger sizes and become increasingly capable of delivering death and destruction.
