Some hills are peaceful mounds of earth, sheltering weary adventurers and their campfire from the cold night winds. Other hills meanwhile, might in actuality be ravenous monsters who use their earthy appearance to ambush unsuspecting travellers. These 'barrow wretches' set themselves up near roads and villages, preying on anyone who makes camp in its shelter. Then, in the middle of the night, it will silently heave itself up on its legs and use its weight to crush its victims.

While their mass looks fit for a slow lumbering at best, barrow wretches are in fact surprisingly quick on their feet, or rather, their back. They can roll themselves up into a ball and roll at breakneck speeds towards opponents.
